* Flash Flood Warning for…

East Central Union County in central Pennsylvania…
* Until 315 AM EDT.
* At 1203 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…Radar.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Sunbury, Selinsgrove, Danville, Northumberland, Winfield,
Elysburg, Riverside, Trevorton, Shamokin Dam, Hummels Wharf,
Middleburg, Montandon, Kreamer, Port Trevorton, Richfield, Mount
Pleasant Mills, Mechanicsville, Kratzerville, Paxtonville and
Rebuck.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
In hilly terrain, low water crossings are potentially dangerous in
heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate
route.
